Art that moves you.
And stays.
Abstract and figurative painting between perception, memory and identity. Discover the work of Barbara Eder, a Munich-based artist whose creative journey began in 1997.

A distinctive visual language.
Between figuration and abstraction, colour, line and memory meet within richly layered images.

“Every figure carries its own inner script; every surface tells a story between past and present.”
My work emerges from inner spaces — memories, encounters and emotions translated into colours, lines and structures. For me, art also requires the courage to paint over, transform and see anew.

Barbara Eder (born 1971 in Madras, India) lives and works in Munich. Her work combines abstract and figurative painting, exploring perception, memory and identity through layered paint, expressive marks and shifting forms. She has pursued painting since 1997, initially alongside other professional work and later as the central focus of her creative life.
In addition to her artistic education, fifteen years of work as a fashion and photographic model sharpened her sensitivity to gesture, posture, expression and visual staging — influences that continue to inform her figurative work.
